New Mold Controlled Chapter Section Posted for Contributors
Greetings,
I have just posted a one-page instruction sheet in the Contributor Login section of my author website: www.JohnCBanta.com. It shows how can-type ceiling lighting can leak contaminated attic air into the living space and how to correct this problem using an LED retrofit kit.
When mold is present in an attic - the best way to deal with it is to have the moisture problem that resulted in the mold growth corrected and the mold properly remediated. Even then some residual mold spore contamination is likely to remain and be able to migrate into your home. Blocking the air-flow pathways reduces the migration of mold spore and fungal fragments as well as other potential contaminants, and also has the added benefit of energy efficiency savings.
LED lighting saves energy
the retrofit reduces energy cost and improves comfort by eliminating drafts that leak through the cans.
